Michel Brel, Author & Creator of the Agnès Varda Festival

Michel Brel was born in 1967 in Sète. A native of the Pointe-Courte district, he has his city and his Pointe close to his heart. This other defender of local authenticity devotes a large part of his time to his Facebook group For the Love of Sète! which has more than 25,000 members and nearly 45,000 followers. A former fisherman-shellfish farmer, he created and organized the Agnès Varda Festival in his neighborhood in 2022. An event that has become annual opening with the Nouvelle vague movie La Pointe Courte released in 1955 followed by a selection of the filmmaker’s movies and a photo exhibition of the filming with Sète as the setting.
